Hi. I’m Samarjeet Nayak. You can call me Samar. I’m 33, based in Pune, India, where I run a 4,000+ community around books & art centered on meaning, mindfulness and real-life connection.
I’ve been on both sides of digital technology, from preaching its virtues to now critically condemning it. After completing my Bachelor’s in Engineering in 2012, I freelanced as a Search Engine Optimization specialist for seven years and post that, ran my own digital marketing agency for another three.
Working in this field made one thing clear, much of the modern internet is built around engagement. Platforms optimize for clicks, time-on-site and repeat visits because attention drives advertising revenue. During the same period, smartphones and apps spread rapidly through everyday life. Screen use increased sharply and spending ten or more hours a day on digital devices became common.
I began studying this problem partly because I had always considered myself disciplined and resistant to addictive habits. Digital technology proved different. The pull was persistent and difficult to disengage from.
Everything you see on this website emerged from years of experimentation, studying the individual components that make digital addiction so powerful, breaking them down and then rebuilding them into a practical system that people can use to regain control over their attention and their lives.
